The proprietor of Complementary Compounding Pharmacy is Associate Professor, Dr Francesco Sanfilippo (BSc, BPharm, PGradDipPharm, PhD, MSHPA, MPS, MASCP, FANZCAP).
Dr Sanfilippo has been a registered and practicing pharmacist since 1986, and is also a Senior Pharmacist at Royal Perth Hospital, Perth, Western Australia.

History
Complementary Compounding Pharmacy has extensive experience in compounding sterile injectable medicines, which it has been doing since 2001.
Complementary Compounding Pharmacy:
- is a dedicated compounding-only pharmacy registered in Australia
- adheres to the principles and procedures of ‘USP-NF 〈797〉 PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOUNDING — STERILE PREPARATIONS’ in its practice of sterile compounding
- extemporaneously compounds sterile injectable medicines and preparations in an ‘ISO 5’ sterile enclosed HEPA filtered laminar flow positive-pressure glove box isolator cabinet, in an ‘ISO 7’ Cleanroom (‘Buffer Room’) [accessed via an ‘ISO 8’ Anteroom], using aseptic techniques (involves 0.22 um sterile filtration); Sterility and Endotoxin tested prior to release, using active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) sourced from Medisca, PCCA, Fagron and Letco (well-known suppliers of APIs to compounding pharmacies), and if an API is not available from these suppliers, the API sourced meets the requirements of USP 〈797〉 for API quality standards
