Compounded Bioidentical Hormones
All of our compounded bioidentical hormone products such as BIEST (estradiol, estriol), TRIEST (estradiol, estriol, estrone), progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone and cortisol are all made from a hormone precursor extracted from soy beans called diosgenin. Diosgenin has a molecular structure very similar to all these closely related hormones. Once the diosgenin has been extracted from the soy beans and purified its molecular structure is then modified in order to convert it into the appropriate bioidentical hormone. Once the appropriate hormone has been made it is then purified again and then micronized (particle size is reduced) to maximise absorption giving a final product which is pharmaceutical grade (USP and BP) and usually greater than 99.8% pure powder. Once purified there are no traces of any of the original soy bean so will not affect anyone with soya allergies.
The inactive ingredients (fillers) used in the various hormone dose forms we produce are also all pharmaceutical grade in quality and include:
(1) Creams – Our laboratory has formulated our own vanishing cream base used in our hormone creams which is free of all chemical nasties found in most other cream bases on the market. These include propylene glycol, parabens, benzoates, parafins, triethanolamine, sodium lauryl sulfate, to name but a few. The ingredients used in our cream base are: cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol (both fatty alcohols made from natural oils), water, glycerine (vegetable source), macadamia oil, stearic acid (fatty acid in vegetable oil) and benzyl alcohol (preservative).
(2) Capsules – pharmaceutical grade microcrystalline cellulose is our capsule filler of choice which is sourced from a refined wood pulp. It is one of the most inert and hypoallergenic fillers available.
(3) Troches – PEG base or Gelatin base, stevia and pure essential oil (various flavors). All our troches are free from artificial sweeteners (eg. aspartame), flavors or colors.
All these ingredients are then incorporated into the various dose forms in our world class, state of the art multi-clean room compounding facility which meets all TGA pharmaceutical regulatory standards. We have separate clean rooms catering for Bio-identical Hormones and nutraceutical products both separated by an ante room/air lock in addition to an ante room and sterile room for the production of sterile dose forms. Each clean room is separated which ensures that no cross contamination of products occurs during the compounding process. In addition each clean room/sterile room is supplied by its own individual isolated filtered air supply to avoid air contaminants from other rooms or the outside environment entering through the air conditioning system. Each room is also maintained under positive pressure to avoid contaminants entering the room with the exception of the HRT Lab which is maintained under a negative pressure which prevents hormone dust from escaping from the room. Each room is constantly monitored and maintained at a constant pressure, temperature and humidity in order to maintain the maximum stability of all raw ingredients.
All these factors ensure all products produced by our laboratory are natural yet pharmaceutical grade in quality.
